Getting started
What devices are supported?
iOS and Android smartphones. A web dashboard is coming later. Your account syncs across devices.
How do I create my first receipt?
Open the app → New Receipt → enter total (or scan) → add tip/tax → choose a split type → invite friends → Save.
Do I need an account to try it?
You can explore locally, but signing in enables sync, groups, and analytics.
Receipts & documents
How do I add items, tax, and tip?
On the receipt screen, add items line-by-line or enter a subtotal and let the app split tax and tip proportionally.
Can I edit a receipt after saving?
Yes. Open a receipt → Edit. We keep calculations consistent and re-balance shares automatically.
Why doesn’t the total match my POS receipt?
Some POS systems round per item; we split on the subtotal. Minor 1–3¢ differences are normal; you can nudge values to match.
Split types & payments
What split types are supported?
Even, percentage-based, and itemized splits. You can also split a single item among multiple people.
How are even splits rounded?
We round to the nearest cent and assign any 1–2¢ remainder to the largest share so totals still add up.
How do I mark a payment as paid or pending?
On the receipt details, tap a participant and toggle their status. Analytics update automatically.
Groups & friends
How do groups work?
Groups keep regulars together—like roommates or teammates—so you can add everyone in one tap.
Why can’t I see my phone contacts?
Enable Contacts permission in your device settings, then reopen the app and pull to refresh.
Tags, search & organization
What are tags and how do I use them?
Add tags like “food”, “travel”, or “work” to receipts. Filter history by tag or combine with date ranges.
Can I filter by amount range?
Yes. Use the analytics filters to set a minimum and/or maximum amount.
Analytics & definitions
How do you calculate metrics like “Avg per Receipt” and “Paid in 48h”?
We compute aggregates from your receipts and payment statuses over the selected date range.
Why does Weekly Spending change with date range?
Charts adapt granularity—weekly, monthly, or yearly—based on the range you choose.
Can I change currency or locale formatting?
Yes. Set your currency and locale in Profile → Preferences. Amounts reformat instantly.
Notifications
What notifications do you send?
Reminders for unpaid balances, group activity, and monthly summaries. You can toggle these in Settings.
I’m not receiving notifications—how do I fix it?
Ensure system notifications are enabled for the app and you’re logged in on at least one device.
Subscriptions & billing
What’s included in Free vs Pro?
Free covers basics. Pro adds advanced analytics, unlimited groups, and priority support.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Apple App Store or Google Play → Subscriptions → select UOME → Cancel. Access continues until period end.
Account, privacy & security
How do I export or delete my data?
Profile → Export Data or Delete Account. Exports arrive via email; deletions remove personal data from our servers.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell personal data.
Troubleshooting
The app crashes on a specific screen—what should I do?
Update to the latest version, then try again. If it persists, Contact us with steps to reproduce.
My totals look off—how can I check?
Confirm tax/tip inputs and item assignments. Tiny rounding differences (1–3¢) are expected across split types.
