Terms of
Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the UOME mobile application and website at uomeapp.com (together, the "Service"), operated by UOME ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using UOME, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What UOME Is
UOME is a bill-splitting and expense-tracking application. It helps you scan receipts, divide costs among people, track outstanding balances, and generate payment request links via third-party platforms like Venmo and PayPal.
We are a bookkeeping and reminder tool. The accuracy of any split is your responsibility to verify before sharing or requesting payment.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use UOME. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using UOME, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at uomeapp.com/contact if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate and current information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
4. Free and Pro Plans
UOME is available as a free tier and as a paid Pro subscription (available on a monthly or yearly basis). Subscription billing is managed through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- If you cancel a Pro subscription, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current paid period. Your subscription will not be refunded for the remaining period.
- Pricing is displayed clearly before purchase. Prices may change with reasonable notice.
- Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple; refund requests for Google Play purchases are handled by Google. We have no control over third-party refund decisions.
5. Payment Links and Third-Party Platforms
When you use UOME's Venmo or PayPal integration, the app generates a payment request link using the Venmo username or PayPal handle you provide. Tapping or copying that link opens the respective third-party app or website.
UOME is not responsible for any transactions conducted through Venmo, PayPal, or any other third-party platform. Any disputes about payments, amounts owed, or failed transfers must be resolved directly with those platforms and the parties involved.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use UOME to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Harass, threaten, or defraud other users or third parties.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Service.
- Use the Service in any way that could harm, overload, or impair it.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms at our sole discretion.
7. Accuracy of Splits
UOME performs mathematical calculations based on the information you enter. While we aim for precision, minor rounding differences of 1–3¢ may occur across split types due to cent-level rounding. You are responsible for reviewing all splits before sharing or requesting payment. We are not liable for errors resulting from incorrect information entered by you.
The receipt scanning feature uses optical character recognition (OCR). Scan results may not always be accurate — always review scanned items before saving.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and materials within the UOME app and website are owned by or licensed to UOME and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
9. Disclaimers
UOME is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We are not responsible for any loss of data, financial loss, or other damages arising from your use of UOME.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UOME and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including any disputes about money owed between users. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using UOME and delete your account at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, all your personal data is permanently removed from our systems.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms, without prior notice or liability.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which UOME is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of UOME after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance.
